Dan Shulman and Andy Tavel Recognized as Sports & Entertainment Trailblazers by The National Law Journal
October 1, 2020—Eisner, LLP partners Dan Shulman and Andy Tavel have been named to The National Law Journal’s list of 2020 Sports & Entertainment Trailblazers. This award honors movers and shakers in the legal industry who have made an impact in the sports and entertainment sectors through new types of strategies or innovative court cases. Shulman and Tavel, based in Eisner’s New York office, are two of only 27 individuals honored in this year’s report. Earlier this year, they were also selected for Billboard’s 2020 Top Music Lawyers list.
Shulman’s practice focuses on transactional entertainment, media, and intellectual property matters and includes the representation of creative individuals as well as major and independent companies in connection with all aspects of the development, production, distribution, promotion, and exploitation of intellectual property and other artistic ventures.
For more than three decades, Tavel has been an ardent legal advocate for creators of intellectual property and entertainment entrepreneurs, with a client base spanning from emerging talent to iconic music superstars and from established companies to start-ups. He also serves on the boards of several charitable organizations in the music industry, including the T.J. Martell Foundation.
This is the second consecutive year that Eisner attorneys have been selected for this list. In 2019, partners Owen Sloane and Jordan Yospe were named to The National Law Journal’s inaugural Sports & Entertainment Trailblazers report.
