Jason A. VanMeetren

Representative Experience

Jason’s practice includes representation of clients in a broad range of real estate ventures including unimproved land (pre and post subdivision), commercial pads, existing commercial (office and shopping center), and multifamily real estate transactions. His representation includes due diligence and title review, negotiation and preparation of acquisition and disposition documents, as well as listing, management, development, and other agreements pertaining to real property. Jason’s practice also includes a broad range of associated general corporate matters, 1031 exchanges, leasing (retail, office and mixed use), ground leasing, and the preparation and negotiation of various financing products (with an emphasis on construction lending and agency financing). Jason works with institutional and private party lenders, borrower, RE developers, REITs, pension funds, landlords, tenants, buyers, sellers, and their respective affiliates throughout the U.S.

Jason played varsity baseball at Stanford University, participated in three (3) College World Series, was drafted in the 4th and 13th rounds of the MLB professional draft and is a former professional baseball player in the Seattle Mariners’ and the New York Yankees’ farm systems.

Selected representative matters include:

• Corporate formation, representation, and dissolution/winding up of various LLCs, series LLCs, general, and limited partnerships and joint ventures (on both the equity and operator sides of the transaction) of varying complexities and in multiple states.
• Drafting of commercial purchase and sale documents and the negotiation of all other real estate related products.
• Customizing leases, ground leases, restrictive covenants, vesting deeds, and CC&Rs.
• Negotiating loan documents for borrowers and lenders.
• Preparing and commenting on various employment and severance agreements, non-disclosure and non-compete agreements, bylaws, privacy policies, and management agreements.
