Eisner, LLP Expands Corporate Practice with New York Partner Kate Buckley
NEW YORK, NY – October 1, 2019 – Eisner, LLP continued the expansion of its New York office with its announcement today that Kate F. Buckley has joined the firm as a partner. Buckley will head the firm’s corporate practice in New York.
“This is an important step forward for our firm and our growing New York office,” said Eisner chair Michael Eisner. “Kate is incredibly talented and will add great value to clients across the firm. Along with her leadership abilities, she adds considerable experience and depth to our corporate talent, and her sophisticated transactional practice is a great complement to our existing abilities.”
Buckley represents and has represented private equity funds and portfolio companies in countless strategic transactions. Additionally, she advises closely held companies on significant matters, and also acts as outside general counsel for companies in various industries. She recently represented a house of luxury brands in its buy-back of licensing and distribution rights in multiple foreign territories.
“We are determined to be selective in adding talent in New York,” said Les Corwin, managing partner of Eisner’s New York office. “Our patience was rewarded with Kate. She is a standout transactional lawyer and an ideal fit to lead our corporate department in New York.”
Before joining Eisner, Buckley spent her entire 15-year legal career with Dentons, the largest law firm in the world in terms of lawyer headcount. “This was a special opportunity that I couldn’t pass up,” said Buckley. “The firm has strong leadership and a clear vision, and many very talented lawyers in both Los Angeles and New York. The commitment to growth with the highest quality lawyers will allow us to continue to expand our presence, while the existing corporate team already offers incredible support for my practice.”
Eisner officially launched its New York office just last year. In June and July, the firm announced the addition of six entertainment lawyers in New York. They included Andy Tavel and Dan Shulman from Tavel & Shulman, P.C., Evan Krauss from Gray Krauss Sandler Des Rochers LLP, and Kerry Smith, the former head of the television and film group in New York for Greenspoon Marder LLP, who moved with her team to Eisner.
